Twirling, tumbling and flying, around and around, full and empty at the same time. Lately, this is my mind. I don’t know when a thought begins or when one ends. I grasp at emptiness. Sometimes it feels like paralysis.

We fill our cup, empty it, fill it back up. This over and over for eternity. I don’t want the cup anymore.

Today as I’m hunched over my table cutting, pasting and working on projects, I get a text from my partner who is lying just outside on the patio in the warming sun.

It was just what I needed to hear. Sometimes it’s much needed, no matter how many times it’s been said or known. It is needed.

I feel peaceful today. Just being. Breathing. And knowing I’m near you. Sometimes doing nothing- or not knowing what to do- is the greatest gift. There are no starts, no finishes, no prescribed paths. So enjoy that you are simply alive, with nothing to prove and, for today at least, nowhere to go. Love you- after all, that’s really what it’s all about!

“The one absolutely unselfish friend that a man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him and the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous is his dog.”

This is what I’ve always believed a true soul partnership is. I want to know not only my lights but especially my shadows. We will always challenge each other to be better people, not just for each other but for the world and the rest of our lives.

I find treasures in you that I have never found anywhere else.

With him, he has helped me fly,
watered me so my petals could bloom,
shone a light on the hidden pathways I could not see,
side by side,
led me to discoveries we share eternally together,
he is my rock,
my sea,
my sun
I see the universe in him,
and I am seen by the universe.

I had an amazing vision once. It was during my experience with ayahuasca almost 3 years ago and it forever altered the way I see love and relationships.

I saw the journey of the relationship between masculine and feminine. I saw woman as a beautiful butterfly, happy and free, fluttering about and a man entranced by her beauty and playfulness, following her trail, the butterfly flitting away mere seconds from his grasp. He keeps following her, trying to catch her and she keeps dancing and flying away. He never catches her. And she never loses her spirit, her beauty and her freedom.

Its a strange thing to explain but this is how I see a true masculine feminine relationship. Difficult to translate into modern day relationships but the feminine is never contained, trapped, stilted for she will wilt and the feminine mystery she once had will fade, just as the masculine’s curiousity, adventure and drive for her will fade.

It does not mean there is no commitment–there is plenty of room for commitment where there is freedom and true appreciation for the other which can only grow deeper the more you delve in. A woman who can trust her own joy and passion, to always have that fire and let that lead her to her path; a man who can recognize that and who’s eyes still glow when he watches her draw, dance or make, who encourages her to be herself, who’s playfulness matches hers and allow her soul to take over whether it includes him or not.
This is only my view of course; one fluttering butterfly’s view.

My love made one of my dreams come true: designing my own ring! I designed it with the wonderful, talented Hallie Katz from our favorite shop in Ojai: Human Arts. I drew the design several months ago on a scrap piece of yellow lined notepad paper and it came out exactly how I envisioned! Delicate diamond leaves and twig details, like a little forest fairy’s ring. :) I’m so happy with the way it turned out and even happier with what the ring symbolizes to us and our spiritual journey together. If you are ever in Ojai, take a peek inside Human Arts – it’s a charming store with unique furniture, jewelry and home items from selected designers all over!
